Serentica Renewables is expanding its renewable energy infrastructure in Rajasthan through new investments in utility-scale solar generation and battery energy storage systems. The projects are intended to increase the availability of firm dispatchable renewable energy for commercial and industrial consumers while supporting grid stability and industrial decarbonization.
Renewable infrastructure development
Rajasthan has become a major location for large-scale renewable energy deployment due to its solar resources and established transmission infrastructure. Serentica Renewables plans to invest approximately ₹1 lakh crore in the state over the coming years, complementing more than ₹10,000 crore already invested in operational and developing projects.
The company reports that more than half of its installed solar portfolio is located across Bikaner and Jaisalmer, with additional developments planned in Bhadla. These projects form part of a broader renewable energy pipeline targeting approximately 27 GW of installed capacity.
Energy storage supports continuous industrial supply
A key element of the expansion is the integration of battery energy storage systems (BESS) with utility-scale renewable generation. The first phase of a 200 MWh battery installation in Bikaner is scheduled for commissioning, followed by an additional 800 MWh during the subsequent implementation phase.
The storage systems are designed to capture excess renewable electricity during periods of high solar generation and supply power when renewable output declines or industrial demand increases. This operating model improves renewable energy utilization, supports grid balancing, and provides a more stable electricity supply for continuous industrial processes.
Further solar and storage deployment
The next stage of development includes the expansion of the Fatehgarh solar platform with an initial capacity of 1,270 MWp, followed by an additional 500 MWp together with a planned 2,500 MWh battery energy storage system during FY 2026–27.
According to the company, its operational renewable energy portfolio exceeds 2.5 GW, while more than 3 GW remains under construction. The completed portfolio is intended to supply approximately 67 billion units of clean electricity annually and contribute to the reduction of industrial carbon emissions through increased renewable energy adoption.

The combined deployment of solar generation and battery storage is intended for energy-intensive commercial and industrial facilities requiring reliable electricity for continuous operations. Firm dispatchable renewable energy can help manufacturers reduce dependence on conventional generation while improving power availability and supporting long-term decarbonization strategies.
