Türkiye's wind capacity milestone passes 1,000 MW

Türkiye’s power sector continues scaling utility-size renewables as wind installations grow in both size and grid contribution. In this context, Enerjisa Üretim surpassed 1,000 MW of installed wind power capacity, achieved through a portfolio of 16 wind power plants.

A privately operated wind portfolio at national scale
The 1,000 MW threshold was reached through existing assets and the commissioning of wind farms developed under the YEKA-2 renewable energy tender program. At this scale, the portfolio represents one of the largest privately operated wind power fleets in Türkiye, contributing firm renewable capacity to the national electricity system and increasing diversification in the generation mix.

From a system perspective, capacity at this level supports energy supply security by reducing dependence on imported fuels and by adding geographically distributed generation assets that can be integrated into the national grid.

Positioning within the European wind energy landscape
With more than 1,000 MW of installed wind capacity, Enerjisa Üretim ranks among the ten largest private-sector wind operators in Europe by capacity size. This positioning aligns the portfolio with broader European priorities related to energy supply security, green transition targets, and wind energy supply chain resilience, particularly in cross-border electricity and equipment markets.

Output equivalent and forward capacity targets
The installed wind capacity corresponds to an annual electricity output equivalent to the consumption of approximately 1.7 million households. Beyond the current milestone, the company targets a minimum total installed capacity of 6,250 MW by the end of 2028, based on ongoing investments and planned capacity additions. The stated roadmap covers wind and other generation assets and is intended to expand the company’s footprint across Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and the Mediterranean basin.
